no, no, no. you miss understood. im not saying that the pilots suck. but, you being an instructor pilot must know where im comming from, when i say that boot pilots sometimes worry me while flying. simply for the fact that their experience/ skill isnt there in some situations. you dont know how many times theyve started descending into a tight a$$ zone before we (crewchiefs) have cleared the tail, and almost buried the T/R into trees or embankment. hell, one time we lost the lower wire stike on a sliding takeoff (thats where we slide across the ground on our skids kinda like we have wheels) because the student pilot decided that it would be a good idea to nose the plane over too much thinking we would gain more speed before we even left the ground. smack, the nose hit the ground and snapped the wire strike off.

I was kidding. I really do know what your talking about with the cherries. And believe me, It's a damn good feeling to have another set of eyes in those confined LZ's with 60' of A/C behind you that you can't see. Not to mention the fact that the guy who turns the wrench's is in there with you.:)

I finished clearing today. Now I get to sit on my a$$ for 7 days till my flight home.;m

So guys and gals,

Do you want your own section or not? I will leave this post sticky for another week and then release it.

I would need one or two to honcho the section (moderate), the names of 10 paid members, and a name for the military chapter??

Let me know if you want me to set up a chapter?:?

fast, DJ,

yes, i'm at 62 but, didn't get there until late 99..have some friends
down in 58 as well. they upgraded passenger planes now..707's
i think.....E

Actually they are 737's, the Navy calls them C-40 Clippers. So far Ft Worth and Jax have them. They will eventually replace the C-9's. Trying to get rid of all the DC-9's first. I set up the training pipeline for that platform. The maintenance guys go to Delta in Atlanta right now. THe plan is to build a schoolhouse at Ft. Worth for all the VR training. With all the recent talk of shutting down the Naval Air Reserve, VR is the only safe platform to be in right now. If you like being a TAR anyway. I was maintenance chief at VR-58 from 1995 to 1998, then Maintenance Training Desk at Commander Naval Air Rerserve Force now I'm the WIng training chief at CAG 20. The next round of BRAC talks will be interesting. Glad I'm over 20 cause Atlanta probably won't make the next round.

Count me in. Retired 1 May 2003 with 29 years 8 months and 6 days active duty. Started enlisted in the Corps, got out learned to read and write, plus count pass the number 20. The Air Force then let me be a ZERO (officer).

By the way.... the Air Force Shield has lightning bolts in it;) Any symbolisim here? ;z

After flying F-4s I had the need for speed in my older years and the Lightning fit the need. Raced 2 Lt's that worked for me at the drag strip... both had Corvettes. Both saw the aft end of the Lightning going through trap.

OK one of you officers need to step up and be the moderator and one of the Sergeant Majors be the guy telling them what to do. Then all you 1sg can whip up on us Platoon Sergeants when our platoon does not show up at an event. LOL Sorry guys I just could not resist SSG(p) Wilson, Woodrow, W. III USA, Infantry! Right now I'm a Drill Sergeant. But on a very serious note does someone out there have the smarts and time to moderate this? Big D is a great guy who I personally met last year at Hooters he and his wife will be more than willing to help the moderator get off the ground. I'm a paid member and I'm in. I just don't have time to train Privates and do this. Mission first. Airborne H minus.

;f Got room for an old retired Chief? I just retired four weeks
ago with 28 years in the US Army & Air National Guard. Was anybody on the board in Bangor Maine at the ANG Base several mont's ago? I saw a Gen 2 Light at billeting but was not able to connect with the owner. I am still working there as a federal Tech.

moderator?

What does a moderator do exactly? I'm on the forum an awful lot and I'd be willing to moderate if need be.

PLDC, BNCOC and ANCOC....been there , done that.
Now I have been enrolled for the past year in the SGM Academy. I would have liked to be a moderator but between drill, work, and my SGM academy online modules I barely have anytime as it is.
This is the end of my NCOES I think.
