Things are starting to come together

Prop valve is mounted and all new stainless and braided lines are complete, just need one %$*@ fitting to have it sealed up. Also checked and the driveshaft looks to still be seated correctly with the new Strange pinion yoke. Would have the new rear VSS wired up as well, but my cheapo Deutsch crimper is not working well at all. Ordered this one https://amzn.to/3yPBztz, hopefully it is a good one and I do not need the name brand one. I need to run the front VSS as well, but that won't keep me from driving it when I get these other little things done. Probably start on the Stiffler's bars next while it's still sitting under its own weight.

On this site it has a genuine TE tool and import equivalent I wonder what the difference is?

I have used the cheap $30 tool and have had no issues. And I have a lot of deutsch connectors and have 3 bulk head connectors I have used.

I guess you got a good “cheap” one Tommy. I never have that kind of luck.

Well crap, looks like lowering the truck causes the Stifflers bars to contact the front spring hangar. Gonna give them a shout tomorrow and see what they think. I wonder if a new front mount could be made with a lower bar mounting point? I think drilling these would weaken them.

How low are you Raymond? I was running Belltech shackles and the slapper removed and had clearance to the hanger...but I wasn't on the lowest hole either.

It’s pretty low, 3 leafs out and on bottom hole of the shackles. I guess I can try the upper hole. I wonder how much clearance between the bar and spring hanger is safe?

On a positive note these crimpers are nice, now I want to rewire my truck with all Deutsch connectors!

Here’s the VSS ready to go. I am going to use the existing VSS wires and the grab 12v from the front tank pump connector since it is right there. I also picked up this super cool in-line resistor for the sensor pull-up. Def beats trying to wire in a resistor.

The front hangers will drop the truck 2 more inches. Maybe put stock rear hanger back on and have the same drop that you have now. It would move the front hangers up out of the way.

Interesting idea Gary. I know it lowers the truck 2", but I wonder if that would equal 2" of clearance because the bar is offset from the leaf spring.

Actually it should give you more clearance because not only will the spring eye move higher, but the front mounting point for the bar will move lower.

The lowest point of the DJM hanger appears to be even with the bottom of the frame. The lowest point of the stock front mount is 3 inches lower than the frame.

Look at the bottom holes in this picture. They line up with the rivet circled below.

Keep in mind that it will change your pinion angle but you can correct that with shims/wedges. It’s probably not ideal right now anyway.
