Things are starting to come together

Interesting stuff and good info, thanks both! Now I just need to find someone who has that kit. Too bad I cannot find the hangars separately. I'll look at other brands. Yeah I ordered a little digital gauge and I am waiting for that to get here to check pinion angle, I am sure it's all kinds of jacked right now.

How come I feel like these bars are going the same direction as the rear brakes?

Down the rabbit hole where you have to buy tons of other things to make them work!

Yeah, we’ll there is a lot going on. I know I don’t want long bars, they hang too low. I might go CalTracs if this gets to be too much of a PITA.

I've seen DJM used hangers pop up for sale from time to time. I usually seem to miss out, LOL.

I've looked at the eBay options myself, the Suspension Specialists certainly seem to be solid.

FWIW… after waiting over a year for Stiffler to release their bars with no real answer on release date I went with Caltracs. Install was easy and straight forward and worked just fine with my Bell Tech 3/4 drop that uses shackles and hangers. Hardest part of the install was removing the old front spring bushings. I think they hang up tighter under the truck than anything you can install. Very pleased with them so far!

Yeah, CalTracs will be my last resort, there was a big long discussion that we all had on here about them vs long bars. I'm not a big fan of the way the truck works with the CalTracks when the rear is under the leaf spring. Joe has shown that flipping the rear makes them work pretty well. This is all very much of a personal preference as many folks go one way vs another (just like Pimp vs Holley LOL). I *want* these bars to work and I am waiting to see what Stiffler's says. I might do the front hangar anyway as the drop shackles are awfully close to the bed, but I don't know kind of in a holding pattern right now.

You got so much into it now Ray, why not go 4 link?

my brackets put the front joint just below the frame. a little higher than the radius arm bracket. I would think you could comfortably make the front joint about another inch higher and still avoid the front of the leaf without any trouble. I have since gone to drop hangers so have plenty of room now.

Thanks for all the input everyone. Good to know I have the hangar option if need be, I still want to give Stifflers a chance to respond. I would think they'll want to modify the front mount to accommodate lowered trucks, otherwise they'll have just a small section of an already narrow customer base if it only works on stock height or slightly lowered trucks.

Oh as far as the 4 link thing goes, not ready to take on something of that magnitude.

Meh, how hard can it be!?!

I have been thinking about air bags and a 4 link. Not sure I trust AirBagIt's I-beams.

I was really just teasing him.

Hahaha, well I've thought about it and I know 4 link and crown vic swaps are all the rage. But what, exactly, does a 4 link give me over this leaf rear? Does it hook better? Is it lighter?
