Join the MS/LA/TX/OK/MO/AR convoy up I35!

Hey Tom,

Nice to meet ya today. Kinda easy when we work in the same building.

I'm planning to make the trip but, will be hauling my 5th wheel up too. What speeds are y'all planning to run? I ask cause I have a hot chip and pulling 10k lbs., my EGTs will get real hot on the grades. May have ta pull the chip to keep the EGTs down and keep up with y'all!

Hey Sid...good meeting you as well! We're going to definitely keep it civilized because (a) were advertising this convoy like it was the Thanksgiving Day parade, (b) the number of trucks in the convoy will attract attention and (c) I'm sure highway patrol will be waiting for us to screw up. I'd say we'll be keeping it about 80 or so.

I am going to leave the New Orleans area on Wednesday afternoon and head toward Texas where would be the best spot for me to meet up with everyone for the convoy on Thursday morning i will drive as far as i have to on Wednesday and get a room for the night to be ready for Thursday
 
We'll be leaving from Denton, TX (see first post). I would suggest you stay somewhere near there. We will be leaving at 9:30am from the Love's Truck Stop up there. I hope to see you there.

OK, for anyone that is coming into Denton to meet us, or will be picking up the convoy along the way, I would like a contact number sent to me (tliss@comcast.net) so I can call as we are approaching your area. We'll need you to be on the highway waiting for us and filing in as we go...we can't afford the time to stop and wait, so I want to give you a heads up that we're coming. Please send me a cell phone number so we can contact you. I can be reached at (972)977-9248. I generally don't answer the phone if I don't recognize the number, so please send me yours so I can enter in my phone and know who's calling. I've got a few numbers all ready.

Also, if there are multiples that are joining up in the same areas along the way, try to get together and join up at the same time. It'll be pretty cool to drive up 30+ strong and go through an area where another 5-10 are joining along the highway.

I made it over here finally!! I can't be held to twyping well though as i'em a little on the tyupsy side. :D

We (husnabd and I) plan on meeting with you guys on THursday, as we can miss friday classes fine. What time do you tihnk you will be through Norman?

Oh, and TOm, my cell for right now is (405) 409-5667 (it's right, i made sure and typed very carefully there!!) We're switching from nextel to tmobile soon, and though they have to let us keep our number, i'm not sure if they will or not. I'll let you know if it changes!

I'll check in tomorrow when m y hesad doesnt hutrts so badly and ican see straight. :D

Excellent new Jess! We should be coming through Norman between 11:30am and noon on Sept 23. The schedule and expected arrival times in various milestones is in the first post in this thread. All pertinent details will be updated there. There shouldn't be any changes going forward, but be on the watch just in case. Meet up with any body you can from the same area and be waiting for us on the highway. I'll call you as we approach to give you a heads up.

Well, I can no longer join up on Thursday. We're leaving after my classes on Friday, because I have a test on Thursday and one on Friday, that I can not reschedule. :( I hope you guys still have a large group and have fun! :D

No kidding!! I hate it, and we've had a few of the younger lawmakers try to get it changed, but the old fogeys throw a fit about how it'll corrupt the youth and such. :rolleyes: Whatever.

They also tried to ban coin beer nights and such. That didn't go over too well around here!! :D
