Second build up from the short block

Do your headers use a standard exhaust flange bolt pattern? Can you have them switched out to a larger diagonal bolt pattern if not so the tubes are not crushed down at the head?

They are built with the wide pattern. These are the first ones I’ve used with the diagonal pattern. I’ll have to see if my flange is big enough to use the diagonal.

What is the advantage of the diagonal vs. wide pattern? Easier to get to?

I’m gonna take y’all’s advice for now and go manual water pump.

Any recommendations on a belt driven water pump?

I’ll be running a vortech blower. Any worries with belt interference?
8” lower pulley

Don't know if you want to go through all the trouble, but I ended up copying Jamie (shocker) and going with SN95 front pump and timing cover. While I had it apart I also added the 1/2 pipe fitting for the blower drain. You will need a custom water pump pulley, but everything clears the Vortech Renegade lower no problem.

Could use a custom crank pulley that accepts metco style pulley rings and has a stock sized accessory pulley... Rare things they are.. may know a guy lol

When I first met Jody Wilk (Outlaw Lightning) his screen name was 383svt. His truck had a 383 stroker, ProM mass air, and a YSI . My stock long block Novi truck was way faster.

The Si has a max impeller speed of 52,000
The Ti has a max impeller speed of 55,000
The YSihas a max impeller speed of 65,000

Start looking at upper pulley sizes with each blower and a 8” lower pulley. I doubt you’ll be able to spin the YSi fast enough (without belt slip) to make more power then the Si

Gary, so much to type.....

Easiest way, 8” lower with YSI is going to be disappointing.

I know. We had this discussion. I just want to try it. If it doesn’t do what I want I’ll trade or sell, or go big bottom pulley. I got a lot $ going out right now. Lol
Unless you have a better idea.
