Steps in the Right Direction - Build Thread for my two Lightnings

It’s just an F-150 bed right? Seems to me that’d be easiest. Have to repaint any way
 
I seriously doubt that there's a bed out there that will be in as good of shape as mine is minus the banged up side.

Ok! I'm all for it! I just assumed most things you find at salvage have been hauling bricks and cast iron for 25+ years.
 
Yeah, they're out there.... just going to take some time to find one. You might even be better buying a whole truck, take the bed off and scrap the truck...

That turned out nice! What brand of coating is that?
I hope you chop those fenders out before you send it in for paint.

It's 3M Professional undercoat.

I haven't decided what I want to do with the fenders yet. I'll eventually have a high-end spray-in liner done, so I won't have the bed interior painted. I have time to figure it out.

I guess I'll sell the original for scrap.
 
Yessir. That's my most likely path forward for the wheel tubs.

I kinda like the black and grey 2 tone...not on the red but just in general
