The bill joint press is awesome!
I installed my ball joints and axle pivot bushings with it. I improvised and had to use 1 5/16 socket to put in ball joints. One side I did the lower first and made the upper hard to do, so the other side I did upper first and it was slightly easier. FYI all I did was watch a couple YouTube videos so if any y’all see anything I’m doing wrong let me know! Haha

I just did everything but the Pitman arm end on mine. It wasn't bad, just took time and some very dirty hands. I rented the ball joint press and the pickle forks.

I still have a little clunk in the front end occasionally, makes me wonder if the steering box might have a bit of slack in it or something.

I was reading my Haynes manual and found this. I wonder if your clunk can be fixed by this adjustment procedure? I’m gonna give it a try before I replace my gear box.

I had a clunk also and the shop welded up all the mounting brackets and The clunk went away. They said it's a very common problem and they usually weld up one or two trucks a week. Once you have your pitman arm in tension take a steel hammer and whack it a few times and sometimes it will pop off.

You might consider the Z36 upgrade for the same price that's on RockAuto.

I bought three or four of their kits for different cars and have been very happy with them.

Looks like I got the same rotors with the z23 pad kit. I like buying from Summit racing because they are one state over and I get stuff next day or 2.

I had so much tension I’ve broke 2 pullers. I used heat and rapped all around it with my air hammer. I’m in fear for my life! Lol

I’m getting there. Radius arms were pitted a little more than I like but oh well. They look 10x better than before. Painting springs today, wish I had more room to do all at once but it’s too cold to hang it all from the trees outside to paint them so I hung what I can from the ceiling in my garage, so I’m doing what I can little by little. I really like the Por-15.

Thanks Bob. I have crap hanging all over my little garage right now. Just need to scrape the rust off my spring/shock bucket area and paint them next. Hopefully this weekend I can start putting it all back together. I’ve been running my heater out here and a fan keeping it about 55-60*. Takes about a day to fully cure.

I decided to knock some rust off the spring towers and Por15 them too. It’s no show truck but it looks way better in my opinion. I wish I could do the whole frame but I really want to get this thing back on the road.

Thanks guys. I appreciate it. I need to see if I can get it back on the ground today. I’ll have to venture out to Autozone for some wheel bearing grease and a new 1 1/8 deep socket (impact killed the other one) to finish it up. Hopefully I can hillbilly align it good enough to get it to the shop for a real alignment too.

Putting the brakes and tires on tomorrow. This experience was a first time for me doing a suspension job like this.

Got it all done and ready for a alignment. In 8yrs of owning this truck I’ve never taken it any where for anything. I’ve done all the work myself with some help from my buddy Rickie. I don’t know why I worry about taking it in for a alignment! I wish I could do it myself.
