Name that noise

Doesn't sound exactly right for this, but maybe the starter was stuck?

The noise would come and go so I don’t think it’s the starter

My thought is that it sounds like something whistling from airflow. So, I'm going to go with the thermactor system was making that noise and by removing it, it's now fixed.

The "coming and going" was the system functioning as designed.

That makes sense to me. They are all blocked off on vacuum side and connectors still plugged in to keep the computer happy. Once the trans is back it sounds like I should be noise free.
