wow, i think you did just as much damage when i blew mine, i split the carrier also and had to get a new ring and pinion, sucks, not get a eaton :)
 
The new trak-lok carriers are rounded where the clutch packs go not squared off like ours, this keeps them from having a squared off point to crack and shear off, my new trak-lok has rounded off and radius edges on every corner and crevice.
