I really want this set up too but I run 15" oem ford aluminum wheels for the winter plus 15" skinnies at the track. My normal wheels are 20s but I change it up quite a bit.
what needs to be ordered and what can be pulled from a yard? Year model #'s & by the way I have a 93..

Here's what I came up with (doesn't matter what year Gen1 you're starting with):
Long Part Number / Motocraft Part Number / Description / Tousley Ford Price
5C2Z-3106-AA / - / spindle, left (for '04-'07 E-150) / $266.07
5C2Z-3105-AA / - / spindle, right (for '04-'07 E-150) / $495.02
YL3Z-1V102-BA / BRR-26 / rotor, front, 5 mounting holes, with bearing cups, 12.83" (326 mm) (for '94-'04 E-150 without traction control) x 2 / $146.96
6C2Z-2B121-C / BRCF-185 / caliper, front, left, unloaded (for '04-'07 E-150) / $105.05
6C2Z-2B120-C / BRCF-183 / caliper, front, right, unloaded (for '04-'07 E-150) / $105.06
6U2Z-2V001-A / BRSD-1045 / brake pad set, front, super duty (for '04-'07 E-150) / $45.34
8C3Z-3049-B / - / ball joints, upper (for '04-'07 E-150) x 2 / $84.96
F6TZ-3050-AB / - / ball joints, lower (for '87-'96 F-150) x 2 / $66.04
If you buy it all new, you're looking at $1,300+ so obviously the junkyard is the way to go for as much of the above as you can get. Couple of notes:
- the optional front ABS traction control rotors will work if you're pulling from a junkyard
- if you pull the entire assembly from the junkyard, you'll have to press out the lower ball joints and replace them with '87-'96 F-150 ball joints
- you can save another couple $ by going with Moog ball joints - #K80196 for uppers and #K8431T for lowers
That's not too bad. Has anyone tested stopping distance before and after?
Cool I might have to do this. Even though I just did ball joints.
