Edelbrock recommends not using Felpro blue gaskets due to the possibility of leaks from expansion/retraction of gaskets on aluminum intakes. The same concept holds true with timing cover/water pumps. I switched to Victor Reinz gaskets numerous years ago. In fact, I used copper gasket spray sealant on the timing cover gasket and Ultra Gray gasket sealant on the water pump gaskets.
I had the same issue as OP, and it ended up being the timing cover gasket leaking at the drivers side water pump passage. The coolant puddled up and ran down to the passenger side of oil pan and back to the bell housing.
