Transmission Replacement

I just got a 1993 Lightning that has a bad trans. when i search for a used replacement trans, there appears to be 2 styles. with code F2TP-AGA or without the code. my question is: does this only designate the lightning trans from a regular F150 trans? originality aside, will either one swap in and work? im just not ready to drop the cash to get the original rebuilt at this point in time. i cant say for sure it actually has the original trans in it. just looking to get the truck in driving condition for now.

Cant answer your ? per say but just an FYI I just had mine (94 MODEL) rebuilt locally with a new converter just under $1500.00

thats the same price as around here..but your truck is slick. mine is rough. dont wanna drop 1500 on it right now.

Tag ID

Check to see if you can see a code PRA-SA10 somewhere on the tag. That should be the code for an E40D transmission for Lightning for 93 & 94. It is specific to that vehicles.
