Spring Rates

Stan - my front coil is 900 lb-in. If I cut off a link to drop the the front of my truck, will the shortened coil still have a spring rate of 900 lb-in? Thanks.
 
No you will be changing the spring rate.The easitist way to find out how much of an increase is to count thenumber of coils and dividethat into the ratsay youcount 10 coils and its 900 lbsthen each coil isroughly 90lbs.so you cut 1 coil then the rate is 990 lbs.roughly.Stan
