Sign up guys!

WOW! Just checked the pre-registered list - ALMOST 100 PEOPLE! Wow, we've never had 100 people pre-register before, at least that I know of.
Looking forward to seeing everybody there!

With 2 of the drag classes un-sponsored, we need all the registrations we can get to help pay for the event. The following classes are still open to sponsorship:

Pro Truck
Diesel Truck/Van

Send any possible sponsor leads to Nan or myself.

Thanks, and see you in KC!

I would love to go and run in the true street class, but the cost of gas is too much. Maybe one year it will be a little closer the east coast.

Mapquest shows it to be 840 miles city to city from Pittsburgh to KC. That's a little over 2 tanks of gas assuming both tanks function and you can get 16 MPG to get there. We, in Washington, face just barely under 2000 miles each way, but for us the price of gas goes DOWN as we travel east ! After Idaho it starts getting cheaper. Utah is good as is Wyoming, Nebraska is okay and Missouri is embarrasingly low in relation to us up here. Your jaunt is only a 2 day drive and that makes it an easy drive.

You could leave Wednesday morn early and arrive Thursday afternoon, and then leave after the festivites on Sunday and be home Monday night.

Hopefully, it won't move from the center of the country, it's a LONG drive for us west coasters now as it is. It's worth every mile and penny tho, the trip is half the fun !!!

Signed up and paid.. have a question about this....

Any Idea how long the cruise is? What is all involved?? :buddies:

ROAD CRUISE PROCEDURE
The road cruise is limited to vehicles that have passed the tech inspection.

Police escort will be provided. From the time the participants leave the drag strip facility until they return, the police escorts will be in control of the cruise, including the cruise distance. All participants must obey all traffic laws. Recklessness, burnouts, speeding, etc. will not be tolerated and may be grounds for disqualification. Police may issue traffic citations for illegal driving or behavior.

Passengers permitted during road cruise (see UPHOLSTERY). Any support vehicles (i.e. tow vehicles, etc.) are permitted on the road cruise provided they remain behind the True Street participants at all times.

Any vehicle unable to complete the road cruise under it's own power, in the time frame allotted, will be disqualified from further competition. It will not be the responsibility of the NLOC or LightningFest 2006 to find or tow any participant that may suffer a break down during the cruise. It is advised that participants carry a cell phone in order to make arrangements for any required towing.

The cruise is ~30 miles, and in KC we do not have a police escort. We (NLOC) lead and bring up the rear during the cruise.

We have changed the description to remove the Police involvment...unless you break the law and get caught. We drive on local roads and some freeway driving. Last year the group caught some red lights due to the group's large size.

Hey Dwight
Do you have a list of sponsors for each class posted yet? I looked around and didn't see it.
Thanks
Wayne

I know......3 in a row...but different quotes... :)

Yes Wayne,

All the sponsors are listed in the class name. The Pro Truck sponsor backed out a few weeks ago and we did not find a replacement. So we will sponsor the class and try to cover the money. We had no takers on the Diesel class, so the NLOC is the class sponsor again.

We are behind previous registrations this year...~20% :(
