Mattman i'm running the 2.7 upper and 7" lower and that would do 9-10 lbs when my motor was stock now it does 7-8 with the new heads and cam

I think with heads and cam the truck would run high 11's easily, and probably if I went with a more radical cam and mass air it would benefit even further!!

hmmm, but will a head/cam swap really do that much more? from what others have experienced, you are about to hit a wall, where your engine is a much more efficient air pump than it was in stock form, and your boost numbers are gonna get lower and lower...

...its that whole exponential factor as you get quicker and quicker. that next tenth is harder and harder to get than the tenth you got way back in the day by simply bolting on a set of underdrive pullies to a stock motor.

Well i think if i had a vortech with the correct pulleys i could get in to the high 11's but thats just a guess

My best time before the head and cam swap was a 13.11 and after was 12.53 and i think with some more tuning i can get 12.4 or .3

It's not always about boost, you also need to look at CFM. When you exceed the blower's CFM you have to move to a bigger er uh unit........

I'm worried about my S-trim (1,000 CFM) with a 2.5" pulley being able to keep up with my R heads and new cam. Luckily it won't be running mad RPM's so maybe it'll get the job done until the year 2049 when I can afford a T-trim (1,200 CFM)

Maybe we should have waited until this weekend to get together. I went out last night and ran 13.48@101.05. The air was great and the track hooked. Those are usually mutually exclusive things around here. My previous best was a 13.71@100.6. Last night you probably would have gone at least 2-3 tenths quicker.
 
Awesome run, I love seeing those Gen 1's fly like that.
