NC inspection

On a pre-'96 inspection do they check for cats on the exhaust? I had to add mine back on years ago because I could get around it anymore.

It depends on who is doing the inspection. Some check for everything that is suppose to be on the truck or car. some don't. According to the "law" they need to be on to pass. If you get a friendly inspector you can get by without them. Good Luck.

Since it is not subject to emmisions testing anymore I didn't know if they would still look for them. Thanks for the info. I will leave them on to avoid any issue.

That could be a good idea in the long run. You know I had a customer come up with a good idea a few years ago. He took a converter and gutted it out and ran a piece of pipe straight thru it and welded it up at the edges of the converter. I had to look at it real hard to tell it was not a legit converter.
