June 2008 Gen 2 Truck Of The Month – Congratulations Chris (WickedSVT) Favero! (NLOC #2102)

This months TOTM is a beautiful silver Lightning. A lot of attention was spent in the "GO" and in the "SHOW" department on this truck. WickedSVT is an asset to the community, too! You have a "L" question, Wicked will reply. Read on and learn about how he fell in love with the best truck in America, the Ford Lightning.

1. What sparked your interest in the Ford Lightning?
For the most part of my life, I've been into Mustangs. When the Gen 1 Lightnings came out I liked them, but I couldn't see myself in a truck. Then when the Gen 2's came out I really wanted one. When I was at the dealership buying an 04 Mach 1 they let me take a 01 Lightning out for lunch. I totally fell in love with them. Two years later I gave my wife the Mach 1 and traded her 04 GT in on my first 01 Lightning.

A year later the Mach was traded for another Lightning. I gave her the red one and I got the 02 Silver one.

Sadly the wife missed having a Mustang so we traded her Lightning in for an 05 GT. At least we kept it in the Ford family.

2. Do you have any interesting stories about previously owned vehicles, before becoming a Lightning owner ?
Back when I was 19 I had an 88 Mustang GT that was a little modified.;) I ran into a gas station to get a drink and when I came out some guy told me my car needed a tune up because it was barely running. I started to tell him that I had a cam in it but he looked like I was speaking a foreign language.
3. What modifications have you made to your truck since you have owned it...both show and go?

4. Do you have any interesting stories about your Lightning ?
One day in November I was off work, it was about 55 degrees out, so I decided to take my Lightning to go pick up my check from work. Well as I was leaving I got on it about 1/2 throttle and blew a piston. That kind of freaked me out but at the same time I was thinking about the mods that I could get done.

5. Tell us about yourself, your hobbies, business or work, sports, family, etc.
I work for an oil refinery as a maintenance mechanic and detail cars on the side. My wife Lourie teaches 8th grade and is also into racing. Seeing that she has summers off we spend most of our time at the track racing or at car shows. Her parents have a sweet 56 Ford Fairlane for shows.

6. How long have you been a user of the NLOC.net, when did you become an NLOC member, and why did you choose to become a member of NLOC ?
I became a member in September 2005. About a month after registering. I became a member because it's my way of giving back to a forum that has helped me over and over.

7. What suggestions do you have to make the NLOC.net website easier to use and navigate?
It's fine the way it is.

8. Why did you choose your board user name (screen name) ?
At first I was Lightning2001 and got bored with it so I figured WickedSVT was a little more creative and it fits my truck.

9. What are your plans for future changes to your truck ?
For now it's time to mod the wifes Mustang, but eventually I'd like to go with a turbo.

10. Whom would you like to thank for help\donations\support for putting the truck together ?
First off, a big thanks goes to my wife for letting me spend tons of money and time on my Lightning. Second to my in-laws and my parents for their support. Thanks to D.I.D Race Inc., Tim @ Auto Specialists, everyone in the Illness group, and last but not least NLOC for having this site for enthusiasts like me.

That's cool. I just need the bigger KB now.
Congrats, but I think the 01-02 chromies look even better on mine :D
You're right, glad you like them.
Way to go Chris. can't wait to see what that truck will do.
I've made a few runs with it and it's pretty disappointing. I need a better tune to take full advantage of it.
Congrats Chris (and Lourie too)!

We're going to be in the company of a celebrity at the end of the month! :D
I have a long way to go to catch up to Ray's celebrity status.

Thanks everyone else.

Way to go kids!!! You both are to be congratulated. I dont know of any young couple that works harder than you guys do to promote the Lightning or Mustang in the performence and fun get togethers.
Great job and congrats, Pops and Jan:thumbup:

Oh yah, In the second photo, that is usually where my truck was, IN FRONT!!!
