Going through old photos...

...of a trip to Florida circa 2006. Stopped by the Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing while on that trip. If YOU ever have a chance to stop there and you have a love of drag racing, especially the "golden age" of the sport you will be rewarded with many historic machines. This greeted us as we entered the display area of the museum in June of 2006.

Another angle of the one that started the craze....

Keep in mind the cars on display are mostly dragsters but so many of the era of dragsters there are unique as new ideas were being tried constantly. Some worked most didn't. All are famous in their own ways.

As I edit more if there is any interest I'll send a few to this thread.

A few more. Since I always try to take a photo of the information card displayed with the car I'll let the sign do the talking about the cars. Most of these photos are not as good as I'd prefer them to be. Back in '06 I was using a Kodak camera and in my early stages of learning about capturing photos indoors, preferably without a flash. So here's a couple more...

Some more. First three are more of Yellow Fang 'cause I have been entranced by Ed Roth and his many creations since way back in the early '60s !

I have a picture of every single car in there. I love that place! I could go there everyday and be just as excited as the first time.

Man I can understand that ! There is a wealth of history in that building !

If you ever get a chance to tour the NHRA museum on the Pomona fairgrounds in the LA area by all means do it ! Another fabulous museum and the cars there rotate so it isn't the same each time.

Wow Great Pics Skritch!!!

My first memories from going to Englishtown Raceway Park when I was just a kid, I watched the "Little Red Wagon" vs the "ChuckWagon" in a bad@ss wheelstand race down the complete 1/4 mile. I remember the Little Red Wagon Winning and running a 9.60..... Thanks for the pics!

A few more.

This is what greets you as you walk in the main display room...
