...had to change the format just a bit. Big D requested a new thread for each day as he is copying this to the WFC forum. Seems he thinks people across the country might be interested in our "blogging".
It was a real DRAG today. The afternoon called for thunder storms. They didn't show...musta been all those Lightnings. The pits are jammed full of Ford racers. The vacant spaces in yesterdays pics are now full. Yesterday was impressive, today was unbelieveable ! Word is there's more coming tonight and tomorrow ! The knowledge and expertise of the wrench turners, tuners, and drivers in the pits and on the track are second to NONE, as is the comraderie amongst the Lightning owners.
Now, on to the fast guys...Word is Paul Duckett is in town, Jerry and Justin both ran 8.5's, Jeff Sparkman cranked out a 9.77, Dave Pickrel layed down a 10.82, Johnny Lightning put down a 9.32 pass, but found "glitter" in the engine oil and parked the truck. All these times came before 1st round qualifying ! (Dale do you understand your target times ?)
Sorry guys, we didn't get pics of 1st round qualifying. WE SCREWED UP ! Our bad. Promise to get all of 2nd and 3rd round qualifying tomorrow.
