Feasibility Study of 460 into 1st Generation

I am removing thinking about removing my Anderson Ford Motorsports 351w (TFS heads, AFM Lightning roller cam, headers/full Bassani exhaust, Superchip and etc.) out of the Lightning.

I have performed many engine swaps with fabrication and am considering a 460 into my 1st Generation Lightning with about 500 streetable horsepower.

Some questions:

1. Is the E4OD transmission equipped with a removable bellhousing which will allow me to swap for a 460 bell housing to use my current transmission?

2. If the stock E4OD can work, will the stock E4OD converter require redrilling the 460 flex plate or require a custom one?

3. What motor mounts will work with a 460 in a 1994 L?

4. Will the E4OD crossmember and mount need modified?

5. Are there reasonably priced long tube swap headers available for the 460?

6. I will probably use a stand alone ignition and carbureter for cost and simplicity sake but, what else am I not considering in this endeavor?

Any advice is appreciated,

Don

1. No, you would have to get a big block E4OD.

2. I beleive all E4OD converters will physically bolt up.

3. Search the Gen 1 section. Copperhead has posted a link to the big block motor mounts that fit in the stock frame.

4. :?

5. Copperhead can probably help you with that as well

6. Search the gen 1 section for Philip. He has a 521ci ??? that runs off of the stock speed density computer.
