Picked up this one last week. Saved it from the crusher. Needs a lot of TLC and a trans. It runs good and drives, I may tinker with over the winter.

Agreed on the “nice”.
These (‘93-‘96) are just about the last of the good looking F150s IMPO.
I think Jamie V has a super-duper low mileage trans for sale.

I found one out of a 4wd on C-list about 2 hrs from me but the guy doesn't know anything about it. My brother is checking on one Monday, hopefully he comes through. The old truck is plenty rough but also kinda solid.

OK, I'm being told it has to be a 95 trans. Can anybody tell me if that is true? I was thinking any 92-96 e4od would work.
What year is the truck and why do they think you have to have a 95 tranny?

It's a 95 and the guy at the local yard said it had to be a 95. He didn't know why. The only info I've found is that 95 may have a different plug at the solenoid pack. I know there were internal changes in 95.
Yes, the 95 had improvements and a different connector, but you can use a 94 or 93 — it’s all a matter of how long do you want to look?

I'm going to get the 94 trans I found. So, do I have to change the solenoid pack or just re-pin.
Yes, Best solution is a 95 solenoid pack swap

OK, I finally got under the truck and checked the trans pan. It's 14 bolts, looks like I need a 4r70w. Anybody know what years/engines will interchange?
