Custom Hood that Lee83 made for me.

Kenny started working on this back in July of 2018. Old beat up hood off a standard F-150. I had him graft two Mustang carbon fiber hood vents onto it. The hood, including the cowl is one big heat vent. Drove from Oklahoma City to Poplar Bluff Missouri. in April to pick it up and get installed. It was all worth it.

It was quite a project. The hood had sun damage. Hail damage and I think some kids may have once used it for a snow sled. I had to custom paint a lamp for the PDR man in exchange for all the paintless dent repair he did to smooth the metal out. Also I stripped the hood to bare metal to remove the beat paint. A little glop to smooth it out lazer straight and a bunch of primer and blocking. I used sikkens autowave water base color and sikkens superior LV clear coat. Same paint and clear that McLaren uses in their Europe facility. Cutting the holes for the carbon fiber vents was easy. The most time was probably spent on the bottom. :bigtu

I’d like it more if the cowl was smoother (without the “nostrils”) but not an awful appearance mod at all

It was yakked about. But Kenny said it would have required cutting the top off the cowl and fabbing a new piece that was flat. Otherwise, the existing cowl has those upraised portions where the nostrils sit. I know, I'm not really one for fake sh*t (rice). But this one I have to just suck it up buttercup and leave it alone. I don't mind the look at all. There's no point in trying to make them functional, since any air that enters them just goes straight out the back of the cowl.

Wonder is someone somewhere is :headscratch:, what's with all the sudden Gen. II activity? :grin1:

At least we have the little smilies here. I hate that LR took them away. Loss of personality doing that crap.
