Ok I've been out of the the loop with all my stuff being shipped back to the states this summer! What are the rest of you Powerdyned G1's running now....and what mods are working good/not working with your setup?

I haven't hit the track yet but heres my mods.....

1" phenolic spacer
MSD ignition w/blaster coil
Transgo Shift Kit
Rancho Torque Arms
Powerdyne BD-11A (stock pulley)
Diesel tube
K&N filter
Side exit exhaust (no mufflers w/borla tips)

I'm hoping for 13.9-14.0 range, the truck ran a 14.8 before the Powerdyne, Ranchos, MSD in HOT (90 deg) weather.

If the track is good(good elevation, cool weather), you should be right around the 14.0 range. I ran 13.9 right after my Powerdyne install, in decent weather.

Dang Paul, thats some quick times, how much did that PI torque convertor lower your et? That might be my next step.

7.5s @92+ in the 1/8 mile not sure but Im guessing 11.7s or so in the 1/4.

sstock, it sounds like all you'll need the get those 12's is maybe a torque convertor....I know Marcus and alot of other faster G1's are using the PI (2600 stall). Looks like that may be the best bang for the buck at this point!

Ive got the 2400 Im going to send it back for a 2800 I think.Just dont think I can tow with a 2800 anyone tried?

Marcus, I have a 2800 PI convertor and have towed my brothers race car and trailer. The car only weights 2400 pounds then plus the trailer. The convertor locks up after third gear anyway, and I haven't had any problems.

My Bad...I thought all you folks with the PI convertors were running the 2600 stall....whats better? Also, do I want a lockup or non lockup convertor?

I can't get a decent 60', even with the BFG's and not spinning the best I have gotten is a 2.01.
I was hoping to get into the 12's with my combo but I thing it might take a convertor to do it, or I might go with the turbo setup and call it a day.

Well,
I think I have the slowest Powerdyned Truck on the site: 14.19@98.? My main problem is 60', I always seem to roast the tires. Mods are: Rancho traction bars, 275, 40/18 Goodyear Eagle F1 EMT's, Borla Catback, Accel cap/rotor, Magnecor Wires, NGK Plugs, 14" K&N Cone Filter. I'm not too upset with my times - it's mostly driver error at the launch and I've only gone to the drag races twice my whole life.

Hey Paul,
I'm thinking about going to the last day at Lebanon Valley - 10/27/01 to race? Are you goin any time soon? I figure it'll be nice and cold out, plus I'm putting on some 295/45/18's on the rear, so hopefully I won't be banging against the fuel cutoff at the finish line and get a higher trap speed.

later,
Jake

Jake....your not the slowest! I am....I managed a 14.378 @ 96.77mph with a 2.28 60ft(spun to 100 ft or so leaving at only 1200 rpm!).

Anyways, I put in new plugs, and gave her a tune up...put the timing back to 10 degrees. Next time I'll run with tailgate and tonneau on and 104 octane (per suggestions of other "PD" owners).

I know she'll go 13s though with some practice.....I know you'll get there too, good luck!

"I KNOW she'll run 13's with some traction!!"

I got ya'll beat! My first run after installing the PD was a 15.320!LOL! But I didn't have the right FMU calibrtion or a chip for my mass air! But once everything straight I ran a 14 flat.
