Autocross illegal in Florida?

Nathan

I buy slicks in sets of 4
I saw this on an email list I subscribe to. Does anyone know if this is for real?

"I have many messages both e-mail and phone about this situation with the
proposed bill in Florida making parking lot contests in illegal here. I also
have been informed that a 2nd conviction of this would be considered a felon.
I guess even with the lot owners OK, it still would be illegal. I hear the
SCCA and their lawyers will be pursuing this actively as this could
jeopardize this sport as we know it, should it pass and spread on to other
states. I don't know what can be done down here from my standpoint but any
offers of ideas, please let me know.

Thanks.

I think someone on SCCAforums.com pointed out that most autocrossing is done on privately-owned parking lots. It's up to the owners what they can use their lots for. :)
