I'm trying to sort out my rear suspension. Previous owner put in shackles, drop brackets and a 2" block with an 8* shim... It is a mess, but I love the ride height.
Block has to come out, no question about it. so that will decrease height by 2", simple math.
I have a new set of stock front of rear hangers, measuring the difference in front spring eye it is 5 3/4" difference between stock and drop, that gives me a 2 7/8 height increase.
the rear shackles that are advertised as 2" are only 7" bolt to bolt it is actually set at the higher setting which is 6". Stock shackle is 4.5". So a 2" drop shackle really only nets 3/4" - 1 1/2"?
Is there a longer rear shackle that actually gives you 2" drop ?
Or... should I drill the new stock brackets and mount them up higher to get that 7/8 drop I'm looking for?
