Looking to replace the 5.4 low compression
With the 5.4 normal production engine
Any ideas.
DO's?
DON'Ts?
 
So you want to replace the low comp motor that has forged pistons/rods and replace it with another low comp motor with even worse pistons?
 
I believe the 5.4 8.4.1 and the
5.4 9.0.1 compression engines are both forged cranks
Powdered rods and hypereutectic pistons
Just the compression is different.
Should mean that it'll make a little more power with the same boost
But will have to use high grade fuel or tune the timing back just a little
 
Hmmmm. They both looked the same to me except the 18cc dish

I also used a PMI method for NDT and found that both pistons
Where of the same materiel compound and composition
That's why I asked the initial question

Just getting some ideas. It not racing. Just driving untill I buy a forged long block
