Figured id finally post my truck on here and tell the story. only been on here for quite a few years already and have had 9 lightning.
The entire project started when i had my white 94 lightning #3349 and truck was in rough shape i had started restoring it i got to the point where i needed a bed desperately. I had found this truck (tan 94 xlt) on local marketplace it was hit in the front and the frame was bent but the truck was super clean body. i had brought it home and looking over i fell in love with the color and all the truck need was a front fender and a frame. So i ended up abandoning the lightning and swapping the nice frame under the tan XLT.
The motor started off as a 1988 e250 i bought had a rebuilt jasper motor. stuck some junk pro comp heads on it and a super victor intake with a Pro-charger D1SC and a Trickflow stage 2 cam. Stuck a built th400 behind it billet shafts throughout and valve body and 36 element sprag. Stuck a 9 inch in it with a stock case 31 spline carrier Detroit. i had broke 4 center sections before i finally bought a nice aluminum bolt through case with 35 spline axles and spool. Truck is ran on a Holley Term X and a 6.86 prodash.

And now the project has escalated extremely quickly with a DART 438 short block and a set of brodix track 1 heads, F1A Procharger and a custom converter being i was fighting the junk off the shelf hughes converter

With the SBE 351w it had went a 11.65@112mph. new goal is going to be a 9 something... lol

You know, if my daughter didn't dislike the idea so much, I was seriously considering doing my truck the black and silver of the XLT I got the bed off of.

That project did escalate awfully quickly!!

I love lightnings and there really cool but honestly there kinda boring (in my opinion) they all look the exact same and theres only so much you can do to change to look of the trucks.
yea it went from keeping the d1sc and building a rod and pistons motor. But then my buddy offered me a f1a super cheap and im like well now i might as well go 408 stoker so i get a good crank and cog it. But ill be pushing lmits of stock block.. alright dart 438 it is... Or its just my excuse i tell my dad lol

Mine is limited by the factory block, and a step up in performance is a really big investment... So, I just stay where I am. :)

Have the main hoop bent up for the cage and been cleaning up the wiring I did a few years ago
