I'm looking for an easier way to clean my engine bay. I currently use simple green and air pressure.

Anybody ever use one of these?

Last time I used this thing called a scunci steamer it splotched the intake tube and manifold on my Roush. I just had spots all over it and I could not scrub any of it off. I eventually just took everything off and painted it back silver. Have heard good things about steam cleaners but from that one experience I will never use one on my engine again.

Yeah, I'll probably just have to stick with my old conventional way of cleaning.

I've read that steam cleaners should not be used in the engine compartment.

Evidently the heat generated can lead the the creation of of condensation inside electrical connectors and we all know what that can lead to.

you are right, steam is bad for all electrical connections. I would never steam clean an engine.
