    The real shame there is that the truck still had a clean title after the theft, because the diff is broken and it has no major body damage, but apparently California now passed a law that all vehicles sold by dealers have to come with a current smog certificate and since the truck is not driveable with the broken diff, it couldn't be smogged, the auction couldn't sell it, so it appears they've now changed the title to salvage in order to get rid of it.
