World's Fastest Lightning 1/8 mile ET. List (COMING SOON)

Lightning Ralph

7 Second Club
Drag racing today is so much faster then it was 10 - 15 years ago that most of the racing classes now only race 1/8 mile. This is because motors today have billet block and cylinder head technology with turbochargers or superchargers behind them producing up to 4,000 Horsepower!

I forgot we had an 1/8 mile list. Would be cool to update it. That is basically all I do is 1/8 mile. 6.74 @ 103.6 for me.

Damn. Your knocking on the door of a single digit 1/4 mile!
That would be cool to lay that down at Spookfest!

That pass may have been around a high 10.50 in the 1/4. Don't think I will be able to push it hard enough for a "9 second" 1/8 mile equivalent. 6.39 usually translates to a high 9.9x

Oh Okay. The calculator that I used showed your 1/8 mile time translates to 9.99. Maybe I did it wrong. I don’t have any experience in 1/8 mile times. We have a 1/4 mile strip here.
Either way a 10.5 is very respectable. Especially on a 26 year old stock short block!

Gotcha. I usually take the 1/8 mile time and multiply it by 1.56... usually gets pretty close.

I'd look at your mph and agree with that. You rocked the short track, but probably didn't have the mph to cover the big end fast enough for a single digit pass. For comparison, the 1/8th for my 10.80 was 3 tenths slower but 7 mph faster, and I was leaving mph on the table because I was struggling with some pretty significant spark blowout once the boost came up. I've always felt that a clean pass would've been a 10.50@130. I hope to back up that feeling!

I'd fall out of the cab from pure joy if my truck managed a 1.5x 60'.

I really need my truck to go a high 1.4 to be competitive with some other local trucks. I'm about 99% sure my truck can't make enough power to go 6.39 in the 1/8th. Maybe like a high 6.5... would make it the fastest stock short block truck in the 1/8 mile I believe. May see this weekend what it will do on 20lbs boost. Need to make a shakedown pass in my dad's gen2 so I may drag mine out as well.

My truck did go a 6.53 at the same 103mph earlier in the year. Left good with a 1.47 60' but blew out header gaskets and lost boost near the big end.
