Wastegate placement

Would the wastegate work at the 90 degree elbow, prior to to joining the other header/pipe? Or would that not give enough relief to control the boost? Basically off the passenger side bank on the driver side of the oil pan, prior to going up to join the driver side bank. I was going to vent back into the downpipe.

You'd need a big gate to just bleed off of one side of the motor. Can you mount it after the pipes merge? It sounds like you're talking about something similar to mine.

I just ran two 38mm gates.

It was a comparable price to buying one 50mm

Brian, yea I followed your build, I went with a s475 , I was just trying to save space and get the best angle I could for the wastegate. I have a single 46mm gate, hopefully it will be enough to keep it under 10lbs. Ive seen several 5.3 guys and 475s say they haven't had issues.
