Thunderstruck-1 Orange Crush-0

big day

despite all the hype and keyboard wars mainly by the spectators it was great to see two competive guys doing what they do best competing. To see them rise above all the contraversy and put on a great show for us all. But the best part was when I saw Jl after the last race pull off to the side and jj quickly follow to discuss the days events and a show of mutual respect for eachother which is impressive to see given all the events preceeding this race. I think both camps were very proffessional and are deserving of all the successes they have acheived. Great event and thank you JL and JJ for a great showdown. You both represent the L community with great pride. congrats to both teams!

I want to say today was a BLAST!..Yes jj/nuno beat me the 1st round and the second round,Regardless with my traction issues..I raced jj exactly the way he wanted too..and i lost!.My hats off to jj/nuno for stepping things up to make it an exciting Race!..The track was just not prepped enough for my set-up.I had a very hard time trying not to blow the tires off.Not making excuses thats just the way it was..I'm very happy with the way this 3.6LC KB performed Flawless in 90+* Heat!...The blower was just unbelievably cool to the touch after each run! i just had to keep adjusting the suspension to try and hook..I never once changed the tune up!..Yes nuno's truck was 90# lighter than mine according to jj. i couldn't see the scale.jj came over and read the scales for me.i have no reason to doubt him..No doubt the numbers show who is making the most power..(putting traction issues aside) we proved we have the dominate engine/blower set-up.Maybe I should have sprayed some meth as well.i'm sure this would have helped even more.but we do not have a meth kit on the truck.Again not making excuses. Under the race format i Lost and JJ/Nuno won!..Nice Job and Congrats JJ and Nuno..:eek:ldtu: JL

I figured you were going to have a hard time putting the newfound power to the ground. Should have kept the 2.8H on there, and won with the smaller blower! :) Tried calling earlier.. I figured you were busy though.

Travis

Congrats to Nuno/JJ......your truck was plain hooking!
Congrats to JL on some stout mph numbers

I had my hands full with that CTS-V Caddy today:gl:

my hats off to JL..u guys handled this like adults and were respective of each other. its honestly what the community wanted..hell of a show 2. that orange crush is downrite nasty. congrats to both of u on ur wins and a handshake. :eek:ldtu:

Everyone crying about this person or that person won sounds retarded in my mind. That is who you want to win or think won, IN YOUR OPINION. If they shook hands then they one of them probably acknowledged a loss and one of them probably acknowledged a victory. Let them tell how it went. Spouting off who won in your personal opinion doesn't add anything to the thread.

I doubt anyone here actually knows what format they chose, and mainly because I doubt any set format was agreed upon between them before the race ever took place. So with that in mind, no one won! They both raced, they probably both had fun, the ETs/60s/Traps show what each truck/drive/combo can do and that's all that matters, in my opinion. FFS
would it kill u jus to congradulate both parties on a hell of a day of consistent fast *** racing? ur .02 cents wit shoulda woulda couldas aint helping this thread either leftcoast! learn from the example set here, after all the BS, the grudges were dropped and a handshake was dun..now that took sum serious guts on both parties parts..i respect em both even more now. its dun and over with, and both walked outta there WINNERS! in the end, this is what the majority of the communtiy wanted to c happen

Just got home from Jersey. Great time! And an Historic moment in Lightning History, too.

Friday morning at a bit before 10:00 I saw JL move towards the starting line. John being close to Dave who ran the event, I figured , was just getting the first run of the day. When he sat behind in the lanes, I realized he was waiting for JJ to pull up. I was thrilled, but not really surprised, that these two were going to race after all.

You have all seen the results by now. JJ taking two of three on the track(no excuses allowed) , and JL impressing everyone with his last two passes in the heat of the day. To me both are winners, and so are all of us!

Jim

BTW, The Library Steakhouse was great. It was JL's pick. JJ missed out as he and family had to get out of there. I got you next time JJ at your choice!

Hey Johnny, not to be picky, but you may want to go back and edit your post to correct the times. You forgot the 9 highlighted in red above. Just since your reply will be/has been posted on a bunch of other sites. Nobody ran a 9.4 that day, you were the fastest with your 9.5 for the day! :tu:

Congrats to JL, JJ, and Jason. (anyone have video on Jasons run?). See you in KC.

Nothing worth taping. lol
It was out first outing this year. We had a pretty soft set up on the truck first hit out. Truck broke loose around 300' mark and we just drove it thru the top end. Water leak popped up that we spent most of the day chasing parts for. Made a couple more hits, but the track wouldn't take anything. Good news is we didn't have any of the ignition issues from last year. If we would of had more time to work on the setup, rather than fixing a pesky leak maybe we could of made some decent passes. We will be back out in two weeks getting things dialed in.

Thanx for the vids!:eek:ldtu: JL

No problem John. :eek:ldtu:

I was glad I could be there to take some vids.

Maybe at the next rental I will get my dishpan hands on the wheel of my mid 11 second monster. :hide:  :D

Hope to see many more events like this in the future.
