Steering

I've got 100k miles on my rig and the steering feels a little sloppy. Most of the Ford techs I've talked to suggest a gearbox rather than tie rods/ ball joints.

The feeling I'm having is play, or looseness, in the response of the wheel...no noises or clunks, impacts, etc.

For an aggressively street driven truck, what do y0u think? New FORD gear box or go aftermarket? I've heard of a some dudes using a GM style AGX box with GM pump, but that sounds like too much work*(hydraulics, hoses, et al) just for a slower ratio box, PLUS I like the stock steering rate...

What do you use?

Your box can be rebuilt .OR it just need to be adjusted.IF the pitman shaft does not move sideways at the bottom of the box then just adjust the box.pretty simple if you follow the procedures.Stan
