Hey all, there is a Silver 2000 at Miller Ford in Mt. Holly. I saw it and Stacie and I dropped in to look at it. Took it for a spin! Fun fun! Got the rear end to slide out a little bit. Love those white face gauges too! Stomped it from a stop too, shh, got a bit of smoke out of it, hehe!

Yeah Larry, stompin' on it from a stop. That's what convinced me to trade in my '94 on the '99.

Yep, sure is a fun ride, but i don't want to give up my 93 just yet. Maybe in a few years I'll get a low mile 00 or 01 and have both. Actually a Cobra R would be nice, hehe, lucky *#*&$! Right now I can go faster with my 93 than I could a Gen2, so it doesn't make sense to get rid of it(buy a Gen2=no mod money left over) and I know I wouldn't want to stay stock long.

Geez! When they were new I heard of people selling them for 50K. How close to that can you get Justin? I'll even throw in the exhaust, shifter and 2 extra wheels/tires! I do have an EXTRA Cobra recognition guide (orderd 1- got 2 ??) still in the wrapper if any of you are interested. I paid $20,so I guess I can sell it for $10-still brand new! It can't cost alot to ship it to NJ,or I could bring it along next trip to the strip, whenever that will be.Lemme know if interested.

Hey Larry did the new 2000 feel as strong from a stop as our trucks. I know how much torque our trucks have. Does the new truck burn as easily?? I hate to go in debt, my truck is paid for and I am starting to like it better, PS did you ever change the Idle bypass valve yet on your truck??

Hey Dennis, it does not feel as strong down low since we have the stall convertors. It does roast the tires easily though. You can feel the extra weight in the Gen2 and I'm not so sure its as tossable as a Gen1. I drove it with my g/f and we talked about all the stuff we liked about it. When we left the lot in mine, I got on the throttle and my g/f smiled and said I like this better. I was happy that mine felt alot faster! Oh, I did change the IAC valve, cured all my problems!

Take those 4.10 gears of yours and the high stall converter and slap 'em in a G2.I can see the smile on your face from over here in PA!!!!

Mike, definitely! Only thing is, I can't afford the truck + mods, so I have to stick with my gen1 for now. Hopefully someday I'll have both.

Larry,
Do like I do! Work way to much, get all(well, not all!) the stuff you want, and have little to no time to enjoy it!? I never admitted to being especially bright! Later

I saw an article in a hot rod magazine where they put a converter in a new lightning and just with the usual mods ie: K&N, computer chip, mufflers and the Gen 2 went 12.86 @ 104 MPH, I also hear that the boost guage went past 10lbs Larry and myself have the 5-6lb kit, how would our trucks run with 11LBS MMMMMM!!!!

Especially since it has gotten cold,my boost gauge has been exploring the upper side of 10psi! One morn I was driving to work and decided to put the pedal thru the firewall for a quick rush, looked down at the boost gauge and it was at about 12! Way past the 10 mark where the gauge ends.By the time I took my eyes off that and looked at the speedo,I was doin' a buck fifteen! Man,your trucks w/ another 5-6 psi would rock! At least another 50-60 horse.Isn't it you Larry that has the big front mount intercooler? With that thing, you should DEFINITELY look into cranking up the huff! With 5-6psi,you almost don't need an i/c.You're not compressing the air that much to heat it up.With 10+psi,the i/c would really start cooling the charged air and making HP.You guys would be turnin' 12's!!!! With a little traction,of course.12.8's/104mph,they musta had slicks on it to get that ET at such a low MPH.But it is impressive.

Mike, I don't have the intercooler yet, but thats on the list of planned mods (Paul Vaughn had it). I will have a smaller pulley on the blower in the spring, just as soon as I get the fuel system all straightened out. Should see about 11-12 PSI! That and like you said, traction should put me in the 12s! I think with some tires I could get a low 13 the way it is now!

Hey Larry !!! you have a boost gauge on your truck, what is the max boost pressure you saw on the gauge??? I was wondering if it is leaning towards 6 and not the low side of 5 let me know. PS: I have a few tricks up my sleeve for my truck too but it don't include higher boost or nitrous just some old fashion fine tuning!!!

Actually Dennis, your probably getting closer to 8-9 PSI. Thats what my autometer is reading. When it gets hot out in the summer of course it will be between 6-8 PSI.
