On the Hunt!

Mach-one

Born of ford blood!!!
Doing the respectful Hello to you all. I am a recently separated from the Japanese craze of the 90's and early 2k's. But have been firmly planted in the ford ground from my very early childhood from which my first turn of a wrench was on a 1973 Mustang MachI British racing green with black stripe at the age of 7. My father owned a 1968 Torino GT when I was born and has owned a ford majority of my life except for the dark years of GM diesel cars of the late 70's and early 80's. But soon saw the light and came back in 1983 with a Mercury Cougar XR7 turbo. Then the Mark VII,Mark VIII and a string of t-birds. I have owned 3 Mustangs 1986 GT(very clean and very totaled by an Aerostar)a 1990 four cyl(drag car project--sold when re-located) and a 1994 Cobra(sad days--re-located couldn't re-fy had to turn in lease expired). Also have owned three rangers, one Mark VII(hand me down) and an escort(first new car) and recently finished a 1967 Falcon 347 stroker project car(sold last week). What a fun time that was.

Now that I have played around in the Pacific Pool of Japanese turbo cars I need to come back to the Detroit Iron heritage I have neglected since 1997, and get me a Lightning. Thanks to your Forum I have answered many questions that I have thought of in mods(mainly 5spd swap) die hard road racer but have seen the autos do fairly well at Little Taledega road race track. I have seen in studing the exact color I would like but limited by year, True Blue and Dark Shadow Grey.

I do have a few questions, Is there a cut off point where I need to worry about mileage on the trannys. 75k or more?

Also worked for toyota for 13 years and on the roots type blowers that were offered for the 3.4 liter engines there was no servicing the blower units but rebuild kits were available for the front drive housing(incl. new housing assy, shaft, pulley, bearing, gskt) Is there a servicing of the blower unit and what does it entail?

Finally is the color True Blue that I am looking for difficult to find due to a low amount of made for 2002 only?

Thanks,
Steve
