They have posted a partial contingency listing at www.nmraracing.com. Now don't go get your panties in a wad like some of them did...it's PARTIAL. Unlike FFW, they choose to post as much as they can as soon as they can instead of waiting till the last minute. There will likely be weekly updates and some will not come until almost time for the season to begin, but hey, it's better than nothing. If any of you know of a company that might be interested in some good advertising, have them call Charlie Harmon at the NMRA office, ext 111. He's in charge of the contingency program and is also working on a year-end points fund. Super nice guy!

There's a good forum and message board at www.thefordmall.com also. It covers all the usual b/s as well as a rules section, tech section, FFW section, Windsor & Modular section, etc. Go check it out sometime.

I would advise anyone who intends to race this year, whether with the NMRA or FFW to go ahead and get your dues in and apply for your permanent number. It takes a few weeks to process it all and it'll be better to get all that out of the way prior to the first race. Both sanctions really push hard for those permanent numbers, which is understandable...it reduces alot of questions and confusion. If you choose not to stick them on permanently, or like me, you don't have room for them all, put them on static cling material and you can take them on and off when you please.

Yes Randy, I agree. If you do plan on racing any NMRA events, you WILL need a permanant number. You can sign up in the morning at the event you go to, but it takes quite awhile to register, get your truck ready, go through tech, and be ready for lane call for the first round of qualifying (NOTE>The truck class usually goes first or second in class rotation behind OPEN COMP). If you pre-register, you'll know your permanant number so you can have it made into a sticker and put on your truck beforehand (looks 150% better than shoe polish, IMO). Another suggestion would be to check out the contingency list & take note of which companies are paying for parts you have on your truck. Get ahold of the companies and request contingency sized decals. Most companies will send these at no charge. This will prevent you not having the sticker on raceday. The NMRA gathers stickers from each company for the racers free of charge, and has them at the registration tent at each event. This you could do on raceday, but most of the stickers for bigger companies w/ common parts (such as K&N, NOS nitrous, & Bassani) will run out quickly and you may not get that sticker, so apply for them beforehand. All contingency stickers must be "PLACED ON THE REAR WINDOW IN A CLEAN & ORGANIZED FASHION".

Besides, it's $40 a year to be an NMRA member. You get a year subscription to the RACE PAGES (the national publication for the NMRA, & a really good magazine too), a license plate frame, membership card, NMRA rule book, all the stickers you need for competition (windsheild banner & side decals), and a free T-shirt. Not a bad deal even if you don't intend to race.

Yep on everything but the contingency stickers on the back window. They must be on both 'sides' of the truck. That can be windows or body panels. There's a couple of tricks for that too. 1) Stick the sticker to your pants before you put it on the truck...comes off much easier. A good wax job helps in getting them off too. 2) Buy a sheet of magnetic material from a sign shop and put the stickers on it. Then cut around them with an exacto knife. This way you can take them off and put them on as many times as you wish.

There are 3 other stickers that are required in NMRA. 1) Current year NMRA decal on each side. 2) Nitto Tires (class sponsor) on the lower right-hand corner of the winshield (passenger side). 3) NMRA/Holley windshield banner. You get the first one for free with your paid membership. After that they are $5 each. FFW won't let you race with it on there so you have to cover it up (looks like crap) or buy a new one after each FFW event. Kinda childish of FFW if you ask me but it's their game...they make the rules.
