Newb looking for advice

I'm new here n I just bought a 1st gen 93 L it's clean and unmolested. I love the look of the side exit exhaust and would love 2 put 1 on my L. But I don't know if the 2nd gen side exhaust can b used on 1st gen n if so any mods needed or will it just go right on.
 
My advice is to search threads posted by HIVOLTJ he has built some really nice exhaust set ups in the past and is currently running a side exit exhaust.It should give you some ideas on how you want to do your own.Good luck
