new tps problem

I bought a new tps today to try the remedy a problem that i was having with erratic shifting. I checked the tps numbers and they didn't seem to match. I check the dc voltage supply and it was 5vdc and I checked the ground its working appropriately. The tps took care of the shifting, i believe however i wasn't able to get the .90-.97 vdc at idle engine off and the truck has erratic idle and when i driven it has 1200-1400 rpms when i come to complete stop, it takes a bit for idle to come down. I would appreciate any help on setting the tps and wire locations on connector to be able to troubleshoot and for reference to be able to set tps voltage properly
