New Project!

Now that the motor is in I decided to see what it weighs, was pleasantly surprised! This is with the fiberglass hood and obviously without my fat ass, hopefully turbos and exhaust (headers are on) won't add too much.

Picked up a Motion Raceworks throttle body and billet Y adapter as well as some RIFE engine and trans sensor blocks, I’ll show the trans one later when I get under the truck.
2nd pic is where the engine sensor block might go, just holding it up with a couple 3M adhesive pads. I’ll need to mount the trans dipstick a bit lower or move trans catch can and dipstick over some.

Been looking at 16v batteries, the weight shown is with a lead acid battery in the back, so a 15lb lithium 16v would save a good amount of weight.

Any real advantage to going 16v at that power level?

Weight, and apparently all the electronics perform better
Hmm interesting. I run antigravity 12v batteries when I want to drop weight. My lightest one is like 3lbs. Will crank my trucks up no problem. I know 16v is supposedly pretty good for ignition stuff with CDI coils. Not sure if the regular smart coils benefit from it besides lowered dwell.

You actually bring up a good point, but I figure if I am going to spend the money on lithium I am going to 16v. I'll check on Antigravity.

Edit: They have really good prices, 12v is certainly MUCH cheaper than 16v.

Yes they do. Been good for me so far. Definitely a good option for race only type batteries.

I was eye-balling the XS Lithium. They show a few options for group 65 showing 8-11lbs. The 3rd one is a 14v

That fast cranking and lower voltage drop were some of the things I heard about 16V regardless of lithium or AGM, obviously lithium wins the weight war.

Lithium seems to crank faster than AGM to me in general for some reason.

Holiday guests are gone and everything is settling back to normal so I was able to knock out a few things tonight. Installed IAT and CLT sensors, new engine-trans bolts (gotta have bougie 12 point), mocked up the oil dist block, and MAP sensor fitting.

I decided I did not want a mess of brass fittings or a bunch of hard to reach connections going in to the oil pressure sensor adaptor. I ended up using a 3/8" NPT fuel block with a -6 inlet, 2 -4 outlets(turbos), and a -3 outlet (oil pressure sensor). I think I'll mount it to the front of the motor plate so it's easy to get to and easy to check for leaks. Just holding it up with double sided tape for now.
