Leaf Spring Question

So watching the motorweek video and reading all the sites on the history of the gen 1 lightning i see that the leaf springs are single leaf? Do they actually mean one leaf per side for leaf springs? My lightning has 6 per side when i bought it. If someone can clarify to me how many leaves there are stock i would be very thankful.
 
Thank you. I figured it wouldn't be but just needed that confirmed. Do you know how many were on it stock? Also, I'm new when it comes to performance building so is the six leaves i have now good for the truck? Will that help handling or acceleration at all compared to stock?
 
Search leaf springs in the gen 1 section and you will find a post about leveling the rear with great pics. Yes 6 total including Slapper bar and half spring.
