January 2011 Truck Of The Month – Congratulations Dale (lvgolfer962) Jorgensen ! (NLOC #2837)
In the town known as “Sin City” at the southern end of the Silver State of Nevada’s largest city of Las Vegas comes this months owner of Truck of the Month. A member of the newest local chapter of NLOC, Sin City Lightnings (SCL) Dale has started the modification and personalization of his Lightning. The pictures and list of modifications show just how far his truck has been refined from the factory offering. An ’03 model, the DSG color is one of two model years the color was offered by Ford. As stunning as his Lightning is Dale has yet more future plans to further massage his ride.

Dale's truck...in the beginning
1. What sparked your interest in the Ford Lightning?
Sometime in 2003 my roommates(twin brothers) brought home a 2001 black Lightning. I really had no idea at the time what made it so special so I didn't think to much of it, that was until they took me out in it lol ! I was pretty much hooked but I had only been out of college for a couple of years so I had to postpone the Lightning until a later date.
2. Do you have any interesting stories about previously owned vehicles, before becoming a Lightning owner?
I ordered a brand new 2001 S-10 Xtreme that was in the shop every other week fixing all the issues from the factory and when everything was taken care of I wrecked it.
3. What modifications have you made to your truck since you have owned it...both show and go?

4. Do you have any interesting stories about your Lightning?
When I first picked up my 2003 bone stock Lightning I had to drive it back from PA to NV, so I stopped off at my parents house for a week to break up the drive. While I was there my grandparents stopped by to visit (grandfather worked at a GM plant for 40+ years). I took him out and of course he's telling me what pile of sh-t ford trucks are lol. So we get out to a back road and from a dig I nailed it, spinning through first, hit second hard, then it chirped third (bang shift). On the way back home he said that it wasn't to bad for a Ford lol.
5. Tell us about yourself, your hobbies, business or work, sports, family, etc.
30 years old, grew up in Wisconsin, been living and working in Las Vegas for the last 10 yrs. My truck has been my hobby for the last few years, its pretty much where all my money and spare time seem to go. Delivering boxes for UPS, it what pays my bills
6. How long have you been a user of the NLOC.net, when did you become an NLOC member, and why did you choose to become a member of NLOC?
Been on NLOC.net for a couple years. Became a member when I started looking for mods and how to's for my Lightning. Chose NLOC because there was a lot of good information and people willing to help you out with your projects and problems.
7. What suggestions do you have to make the NLOC.net website easier to use and navigate?
Wouldn't change anything.
8. Why did you pick your board user name (screen name)?
It’s a screen name I’ve used forever. Basically it’s Las Vegas golfer and model of irons I used to play.
9. What are your plans for future changes to your truck?
Built long-block with a 2.3 Whipple, widened stock wheels for the rear, drop the the back end down a inch.
10. Whom would you like to thank for help\donations\support for putting the truck together?
I’d like to thank everyone on the board & site vendors that have helped me out with parts and the questions I’ve had over the years, the lady that t-boned me with her mini van that gave me enough cash to purchase my truck, and of course all my friends and family
