Which direction should the Fan Hub be turned to disconnect from the Truck?

CCW to get it off, the water pump turns counter rotation of crank. It takes a 1 7/16" wrench IIRC.

Good poll, it is amazing how many different answers you get to the same question. When I took mine off my 2004 L it took a 1-7/16" open end wrench and standing in front of the truck facing the fan you whack the wrench with a 2# sledge knocking it CCW and it should spin right off. Maybe different years have different size nuts, but I doubt it. By the way, it is an expensive wrench, so if you need to borrow one PM me. Good luck!

It takes a 1 1/16" wrench IIRC.

1 7/16" for me.

LOL... I used a large cresent wrench to loosen the fan and a small pipe wrench to keep the hub stationary. Worked great.
