Got most of it put together today. Got it painted opal grey. Hid my Holley HP ECU in there. Got the quick 4 put together which was a pain lol. I'm debating what to do with the console lid.. I have a dark grey covering on the way for it but now I'm not sure. I could paint it opal grey or black too. What you guys think?

No you won't lose any room at all. My leg doesn't even get close to it and I'm 6' 4". Looks closer than it really is in the picture.

The stock one? Maybe find a replacement lol. It broke a long time ago. Or I will just make a panel out of aluminum and paint it black. Not sure yet. Currently that's where I have my tuning cords coming out of.

After looking at some pics of these consoles it looks like a few inches could possibly be trimmed off the back to allow it to move back a little and make the shifter work. May have to look into doing that and adding something to the front to close up that space.
