wow 1.5 rockers......... yep tiny
109 center lobe geeze that guy's gonna lope big time.
8.5 comp sounds like a blower set up. have you run it yet?
my set up different.. 1.7 rockers
112 center lobe hyd roller sounds stock lol runs ok on motor but really pick's up on the bottle. 9.5 comp (needs like 14.5) good for pump gas, race time it gets 116. Heads canfields flow like 310 / 225 at 500 2.08 /160 valves.
nice set of heads
I'm using 1.6 rocker stock amc ratio and the comp is actuly unknown as of this point but the pistons I'm using should be low compression 10.5-1 or less with the deep dishes but I havent cc'ed anything yet. it will be a dog off spray but sound cool as hell
I have heard the cam in another engine it was in my buddy's amx in a 427 stroker amc 14.75-1 comp 1.75 rockers ported FBS heads that flowed way too much for the CI 430int 360 something ex, with a single carb it made 900 horse na and he was planing on putting as much nitrous as it took to get his 3200# car in to the 8's but after a few passes the sleeves started leaking and he decided to sell the heads and go with a set of indy street head with no push rod holes cast in to them and run offset rockers since that way he could get the low end flow he needed but with the pushrods moved the street heads have better flow potental than the race heads indy makes with a little over 800 gross lift on that combo he is making a little over 800hp na but it is more usable and the car runs near the same time na the old combo did since he wouldn't run it past 8500 rpm. my car will not sound anywhere close since the compression is lacking, there about half the head flow and the lift will be down but it was a nice custom billet roller for 200 and thought a little on the large side should nt hurt the flow thought the extra .020 lift dosen't help either .
here is what heads like he had look like and his where massively ported
Race Ads | For Sale: AMC-JEEP Fred Brewer Al. Racing heads unfortunately the tooling for these got destroyed in an accident a few years back so used the the only way they come and I have no where near that kind of cash but look at that port :scared1: that is a monster set of heads
now that with an indy alm block and custom moldex crank in the 550 ci range would be a monster
This engine was going to go in to a full tube chassis AMX project but i had a chance to trade that and some parts for a rust free 69 AMX caged and tied together for road racing so now that engine is going in to my Javelin street car. this is a budget race engine (if there is such a thing) bought most of the parts for it new at a fraction of the retail price some on ebay and some when Aerro went under.
It is to the point I need to send it out and get the machine work finished it still needs the lifters bushed because the cam lift will push the lifters up into the oil galley and bleed off all the oil pressure and i need to get it neutral balanced also for since I bought a Hays alm flywheel for it that is no longer made and a neutral Fisher Concepts balancer both bought pretty right.
since it is going in front of a 4 speed I'm trying to decide if i should leave the bronze insert and run a centered iron slipper clutch or use the steel insert i bought with a brass or duel disk and if any one has a nice 250+ plate or fogger kit I wold be interested preferably zex speedtech or wilson but NX or NOS would be fine if there the good plates or foggers
never mind about the nitrous right after i got off of here and went to craigslist i found a speedtech diffuser 100-500 kit with 1 gal cell, holly black pump. bg bypass reg., and nos purge the only thing missing is a down tube and the bottle brackets but for $550 i couldn't pass it up.
