Hi all, first time posting is this part of the forum.

Was at a friends house earlier today, we we're talking cars and such, then Carbon Fiber came into the conversation.

Im posting here, thinking it would be more of a Show piece compared to a Weight Reduction piece, how does a Carbon Fiber Tailgate sound? He says he has connections with manufactures and can produce them. Just getting a feel for it, no good? yes?...ehhh waste of money?

lemme know your thoughts!
 
it is likely to be part fiberglass with CF overlayed, or maybe pure CF. The only thing that is hold me back right now is how it would attach. ill think some more about it.

do you guys think alot of people would be interested?
 
ouch, im pretty sure thats pure CF too, and a working tailgate at that, ie applied weight to tailgate and such.

this is probably a no go due to the cost and interest.

im aware of those pieces, its pretty funny how i thought of fabbing up a tailgate, then i saw them on ebay.

How about a 1 piece cf front clip that tilts forward (like the 55 in two lane blacktop ;k )
 
any cf will be good but the price issue is a problem even doing over lays on cf is pretty cheap but time consuming
