Any thoughts on this 4 link?

I did the math and it works out the 240 lb spring rate, so roughly the same at Hotchkis, and you'd end up with a nice 4 link and ditching the leaf springs.

Anyone have any thoughts on it?

(I'm looking because my Hotchkis springs are now S shaped, and if I have to replace them, I want to see what else is out there)

Note that I actually called them and they said "hell no, don't use it on a lightning!" Basically said it couldn't handle the power, especially with slicks.

Suggested using their weld in kit (which is actually cheaper and would work, but WAY more work.)

If I wanted airbags, this looks really nice:

Basically $6000 out the door, but you end up with a full auto-leveling air suspension with fairly firm springs rates.

They were also willing to modify their rear 4-link and replace the air springs with coil-overs. ($1700+coil overs). Bolt in, so good, but still a whole lot of work, and the KP weld in kit would be $1000 cheaper...

It is funy that KP says don't use them, but that is the kit nearly everyone uses.

I don't see how the Ridetech kit can work with an anti-sway bar... seems like a big deal.

Take a look at this thread..... Looks like they are coming up with a design specific for the L

yeah... but autocad drawing of something theoretical (and not very good drawings at that) are pretty far from buying a bolt in kit...

Still, I'll keep an eye on it.

I am interested in the Air Ride system too. Figured it would cost at least 10 grand to do correctly. I would also want to get a new rear end set up something like a Fab 9. I am thinking this wold reduce weight and have welded on mounts for the 4 bar set up. One thing though to get to what I want there would have to be a C notch added. I think Skelton finally had to add one to his L. Maybe if enough L owners call Ride Tech they could come up with something more specific that would fit all F150s 97 to 03.
