....WOW what a weekend ! Last of the summer holiday weekends and since it was sunny for the first two, and the rule in western Washington is a minimum of one rainy 3 dayer this one was it !

Got an early preview here in the little hamlet of Startup on Friday afternoon with a nice sprinkle then light rain fer awhile. Saturday showed up with off and on rain (about even on the off and on). Attempted to go cut some firewood but the 'ol chainsaw stopped cooperating after about a 1/6th of the F-150 was loaded. Jeez, ya would think a 25 year old chain saw would work longer than that !?! Fiddled with it Saturday afternoon for awhile and listened to the rain gently patter against the metal roof of the shop. Got it figured out and runnin' on demand while still listening to the gentle patter of rain on the roof.

Sunday was the same. More off and on rain but mostly ON ! Nothing to do but watch 4 hours of drag racing on ESPN 2. Labor Day weekend means the Big Go at Indy !!

Monday was the same. Off and on rain mostly ON again ! Might as well watch 6 hours of coverage of the Big Go ! Good racin' and bunches of controversy with Force and Pedregon. Don't see that kinda stuff on TV anymore with the "other" series. Lots of TV on Force and Tony Pedregon at the top end shoutin' and gettin' in each others faces. Officials havin' to drag them apart an' all !! Just like the '76 Daytona 500 coverage on CBS !

With all that Ashley did win the Nationals Funny Car class and Force's cars all made the top ten to the countdown.

And wouldn't ya know it the stars are out this morn. Popped out around 1 AM just in time for the work week and even more ironic the start of school !

As for me ? Without rain I gotta start paintin' this little idy bitty house.......

Sprint car racin' on the 12th at Monroe, CCCA drag racin' on the 19th at Bremerton (on the 12th too but I gotta do the sprint car thing).



PS 5 gears is awaiting a rebuild kit for the clutch slave cylinder but I did get chrome bulbs up front in the park/turn/corners and the drivers seat repaired.
