Yep, another L came home to Washington. A 5-speed L. Kerry's L left Canton, Illinois on the 8th of August and made the trip to its new home in Washington. He told us we'd need to bring one of the L's with us 'cause of all the spare parts that went with the truck ! Yeah, the SuperCab and the red one were loaded to the gills with parts, both stock and aftermarket for the trip home.

Always since the first 5 speed was done I've wanted a gear box in an L to "row the gears" with. Out of the blue I got a PM from Kerry that he wanted to sell his L and would I be interested ? Does a bear crap in the woods ? He!! yes I'll take it ! Funny thing is Jean read the PM and got around to mentioning it a day later ! I pushed her out the way to get to the computer to send a PM then went hunting for his phone number to make sure this one didn't get away !!!

Left August 3rd to go snag it, arrived there in the late afternoon of the 6th, got not one but two treats while there. First a late night ride on a two lane country road in a '67 4-speed Hemi Charger (Kerry's Dad's) then a two hour session in the garage of a man that owns a ultra low mile '69 Boss 429 ! Not only a Boss9 but two spare engines, tons of spare parts for the engines as well !!!

WOW, what a trip. Got home with "5 gears" (its license plate) and turned right around to go up to Victoria, B. C. to cover a sprint car race. Got home from that Sunday night then started the process of unpacking both trucks, boxing up and organizing all the parts and gettin' ready to "unveil" the truck locally.

Yeah, it feels natural to me to have a stick in the truck and a clutch pedal to depress. For me, it's like it always shoulda been.....

So now, we got ourselves a "patriotic family"...

Red is kinda growin' on me. Maybe I won't have it painted True Blue.......

That thar tailgate is a custom "one-off piece" an' I'm thinkin' I might not like the look......

Bobby don't give him a reason to leave town. He doesn't need much arm twistin'. You may find him on your door step next time we sneek through your fine city. Sooner then later.

As for the 429 can you say red herring it was a pretty cool car, but is someone else's and Scotty was privileged enough to see it.
