Talking New update (for Jon)

Alrighty then....things are getting a little more serious now.

Stock firewall

Beat up firewall

I probably had the manifolds on and off at least 6 times trying to get this close.

The results so far

I completely stripped all parts from the pass. fenderwell and firewall....then replaced the A/C dryer, the liquid line and also the condensor. I cleaned and replaced all the wiring and brackets and sealed up the A/C

More pics of interest

New 10% underdrive front damper w/drivepulley adapter for S/C (this has been installed)

Today (Sunday) the Eaton goes on, I want to get this thing running and take care of a few things like emissions test, license, front end alignment, A/C recharge, exhaust fitment, brakes and what ever else I can think of......also maybe a trip down the drag strip with the Eaton in place....just because I never did it before I pulled it apart.

Nice Dale,
Great idea on the re-shaping tool for the firewall. I was wondering how to go about that since there isn't any swinging room for that BFH...Intake manifold deepening looks good there...

So exactly what kind of fluids were you filling with??

For now its Castrol GTX 10W30 in the engine and some kinda cheap junk in the trans. They say the cheap junk works best in the trans so I thought I would try that this time. I got non-synthetic Torco 85W140 in the rear....I have to run this because it is the only thing compatible with the posi clutches that are in there (Carbon)

When the engine gets a few miles on it I will switch to Mobil 1...most likely 15W50

PS....trans fluid is CarQuest Dex/Merc ATF.....good stuff

After that manifold was welded back together it was bent so bad it had to be completely remachined top and bottom.

Its hard to see but I also installed pipe fittings in the back of the manifold for a bank to bank water transfer at the back of the cylinder heads. I installed the pipe fittings before the remachining incase they moved the gasket surface....they did

Sorry I'm late Jon....vacation is going slow....not getting near as much done as I wanted but never the less it is getting done.

Ready to do some heavy machine work

My wheels showed up....Weldcraft narrowed them to 7.0" wide and a 235/60 Michelin tire will be mounted up on Friday.

New water tank for I/C system

I have a lot more to show but it will be a day or so before I get back to it.
I'm working on fuel lines, I finished the power steering system and it is ready for fluid, I finished the Killer Chiller and it will now hold pressure, I am almost finished with the intercooler....got one more hose to make and the fitting just showed up. Haven't touched the brakes yet but I did aquire all the tools, hardware, fittings, tubing and junk to get started on it, the 02 sensors are hooked up with extensions, the engine will now hold coolant but I haven't poured that in yet.....it's getting there.

Narrowed rims and Michelin tires on the truck....You can't tell the difference, also they weigh 57 lbs apiece compared to around 63 for a stock set.

Carson stopped by so I put him to work.....he's manning the battery post incase Steve's wiring harness catches on fire....hey....ya never know

Hey Kids.....we got oil pressure

I'm starting to run out of steam but this is where it stands on Saturday night, still a fair amount of work to do so I'm not sure if I will hear it run on Sunday, besides I think I'm missing a fitting for the fuel return line and yes I could make it work but not sure if I want to.

Big projects left to do before I can drive it: more exhaust work....it will need some sort of muffler.....I have to change the front springs.....the brakes are not hooked up yet and there is a lot of tube bending and flaring to do.

I hope work leaves me alone for just a little longer so I can finish the above projects.
