Here is a personal invite to all Lightning owner's to come and participant at this event. Bring the family and spend the day with us at a first class facility.. enjoy a full day of ALL FORD Drag Racing competition. Either run or show your Lightning but make sure to come and enjoy in the fun. Classes and preregistration information will be posted soon.

It will be held on Saturday, August 15the day before we head out to Woodburn for the All Ford Drags & Car Show. All Ford Products are of course welcome. Me and the wife took both our trucks last year and had a blast. This is a great event and the drag strip is awesome. There were only a hand full of trucks there last year so, it would be cool to see more this year. You can count us in for sure, hope to see some of you up there.

OK, so Im a drag racing virgin, and this will be my maiden voyage (Ive always had off-road rigs) So what I want to know is, what will I be required to have for safety inspection? Helmet? Fire jacket? Driveshaft loop? anything else?

I have a Simpson helmet a friend gave me, its a little old though, manufactured in 1994, its snell sa90 rated I think, will this pass? Other than that I dont have any of the other things mentioned above. I want to make sure Ill get through, before I send in the $40 fee.

Any other first timer advice will be greatly appreciated. I believe they are having a test and tune session on the Friday before. I may go hit that up to get my feet wet in hopes I dont completely embarrass myself in front of all you veterans

I think that helmet will not pass, it's too old.
If you are running slicks you need a drive shaft loop.
If you have a non-stock power adder you'll need a fire jacket.

all depends on your mods, but it doesn't hurt to have all of the above
